Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website or booking an event at Ancestral Acres Lodge & Barn ("we," "our," or "the Venue"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.

These Terms & Conditions are in addition to any event contract or rental agreement you may sign with us.

Website Use

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the website. Prohibited activities include:

• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Transmitting harmful code, viruses, or malware
• Using automated systems to scrape or collect data
• Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation

Reservations and Deposits

All event reservations require a signed rental agreement and non-refundable deposit to secure your date. The deposit amount and payment schedule will be specified in your individual contract.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation terms are outlined in your individual event contract. Generally:

• The initial deposit is non-refundable
• Cancellations made more than 180 days before the event may forfeit the deposit only
• Cancellations made within 180 days of the event may forfeit additional payments as specified in your contract
• No refunds are provided for cancellations within 90 days of the event

We recommend wedding cancellation insurance to protect your investment.

Event Insurance

Event liability insurance is required for all events held at Ancestral Acres Lodge & Barn. Proof of insurance must be provided at least 30 days prior to your event date. The policy must:

• Name Ancestral Acres Lodge & Barn as an additional insured
• Provide minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence
• Include host liquor liability if alcohol will be served

Vendor Requirements

You may choose your own vendors (caterers, photographers, DJs, etc.). All vendors must:

• Provide proof of liability insurance upon request
• Comply with all venue rules and regulations
• Complete setup and breakdown within designated times
• Remove all equipment and materials by the specified checkout time

The Venue is not responsible for vendor performance or any damages caused by vendors.

Guest Conduct and Damages

You are responsible for the conduct of all guests and vendors attending your event. You agree to:

• Ensure guests comply with venue rules and Michigan state laws
• Prevent underage drinking and maintain responsible alcohol service
• Pay for any damages to the property, buildings, or grounds caused by you, your guests, or vendors
• Leave the venue in the condition it was found, less normal wear

A damage assessment will be conducted after your event. Charges for repairs or excessive cleaning will be billed to the credit card on file.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ancestral Acres Lodge & Barn shall not be liable for:

• Personal injury, property damage, or theft occurring on the premises
• Vendor failures, cancellations, or performance issues
• Weather-related impacts on outdoor ceremonies or events
• Consequential, incidental, or punitive damages

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for venue rental.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ancestral Acres Lodge & Barn, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your event, your guests' actions, or your breach of these terms.

Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, the parties will work together in good faith to reschedule or resolve the situation.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of Ancestral Acres Lodge & Barn and protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.

Photos taken at our venue may be used by us for marketing purposes unless you opt out in writing.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Branch County, Michigan.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
