Spacious Victorian Bedrooms

The Queen Anne mansion boasts six Victorian bedrooms and can accommodate up to 22 guests. A home away from home for anyone who stays, each room celebrates vintage beauty with authentic antique furniture and old-world details. Guests who stay in the master bedroom on the main floor enjoy a private bathroom, while our second-floor master features panoramic views of the estate. Also located on the second floor, our Blue and Gold rooms have ornate, private fireplaces, and our Purple and Green rooms each have two beds. One of the parlors can be converted into a temporary seventh bedroom for additional sleeping space. We provide fresh bed linens and towels, and every room is professionally cleaned between stays.

Located on the first floor, our ensuite room has a private bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower and an antique copper and tin soaking bathtub. The room includes a double bed and ample storage space.
Cathedral Room
Our largest room, the Cathedral Room has a two-story cathedral ceiling and window seating perfect for reading a book or taking in nature. Six windows provide panoramic views of the beautiful countryside estate. The room includes a queen-sized bed and ample storage space.
Blue Room
Located on the second floor, the Blue Room features a stunning vintage fireplace and three windows overlooking our lush landscaping. The room includes a double bed and ample storage space.
Gold Room
The Gold Room features a stunning vintage fireplace with ornate details and three windows overlooking our beautiful ponds and Michigan greenery. Located on the second floor, this room includes a double bed and ample storage space.
Purple Room
Located on the second floor, the Purple Room features an authentic Florence stove and two windows overlooking our natural forest preserve. The room includes both a king-sized bed and a twin-sized bed.
Green Room
The Green Room features a window overlooking one of the beautiful ponds on the estate. Located on the second floor, this room has two twin-sized beds that can be fashioned into a king-sized bed if needed.

A harmonious blend of old and new, our historic Queen Anne mansion features all the amenities of a modern home in a charming, vintage setting. The main floor of our lodge boasts two parlors, a formal dining room, and a gourmet eat-in kitchen. Travel to the third floor to find our recently-renovated Grand Ballroom, perfect for intimate gatherings and events. Throughout the lodge, we have four full bathrooms equipped with modern features. The Queen Anne mansion is professionally cleaned between stays.

Gourmet Eat-In Kitchen
Our renovated gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a double convection oven, center island with a six-burner cooktop, two large sinks, and two dishwashers. We have dishware, serveware, and utensils available for use, but guests can also bring their own.
Formal Dining and Living Spaces
With plenty of entertaining space for your entire group, our Queen Anne mansion has two parlors and a formal dining room. These rooms are easily set up for holiday celebrations, rehearsal dinners, showers, and intimate parties.
Located on the third floor, our 1,800 square foot grand ballroom is a majestic setting for intimate gatherings and small events (up to 80 guests). This two-story ballroom features majestic gabled ceilings, panoramic views of the estate, and ample lighting throughout the space.
Four Modern Bathrooms
The Queen Anne mansion has four full bathrooms conveniently located throughout the first and second floors. One first-floor bathroom is attached to the Ensuite Room and features a walk-in shower and an antique copper and tin soaking bathtub. A bathroom on the second floor has a bathtub, and all bathrooms have granite details and showers with glass enclosures.

To honor the rich history of the Queen Anne mansion, we have beautiful antique furniture and details throughout our lodge. These include Victorian fireplaces, authentic heating stoves, delicate china, vintage artwork, and a grand staircase featuring some of the original 1870s architecture.

Our park-like lawns and ponds provide a beautiful setting to relax and connect with nature, while our fields and forests feature designated paths for hikes and bike expeditions. We can accommodate outdoor weddings and special events on our sprawling two-acre yard and renovated white-interior barn.

Ancestral Acres is situated on 447 acres of natural forest preserve with miles of walking and biking trails through fields of wildflowers and native grasses, woodlands, and forested wetlands. Four ponds attract migratory birds, and oak, maple, cherry, paw-paw, and beech trees adorn the forest paths. Abundant in natural beauty and wildlife, our nature preserve is an amazing getaway for birders, photographers, and nature lovers alike.
Ancestral Acres has spacious areas designated for special events and weddings. Our heated barn is a charming venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, community events, and other large gatherings. We can also host weddings, tented events, family reunions, retreats, and more on our expansive two-acre lawn.
