"Boys Weekend" [July 2017]

I just got back from a boys weekend at this place and I did not want to leave. I could easily live here happily for the entire summer. This house is truly one of a kind in the best possible way. Bill has fully renovated the home with high end fixtures and amenities while maintaining the history of the home. The bathrooms and kitchen have luxury finishes including showers with water coming from essentially every direction! The home has truly wonderful antique furniture and original hardwood floors. Large pocket doors, high ceilings, and bookshelves and treasures from times long past make staying in this home a remarkable experience. The pool table, ping pong table, and laundry in the basement along with the propane grill and 3 large porches are the icing on the cake.

On top of all of that, this home is situated on an expansive estate that includes a number of ponds, a large yard, and trails through the woods and fields. We encountered deer and turkeys within 15 feet of us while exploring. At night, the sky is alive with stars. I honestly can not remember the last time I had seen even 1/10 of the stars I saw in the night sky at this home. The night sky was worth the cost of the home all by itself and completely justifies coming the extra distance from Chicago or Detroit or Ann Arbor. We had 14 guys for a boys weekend at the home and every single one of us loved it. It provided us with the privacy we were looking for and plenty of room let out energy by playing sports in the yard, BBQ on the grill, and explore the estate. The home could easily sleep more than 14. If you bring a couple air mattresses you could sleep 20+ people here and still feel like there is plenty of room in and around the home for individual privacy.
